Abstract:【Objective】To investigate the relationship of ratio of hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg)/hepatitis B virus (HBV) DNA with transforming growth factor-β1(TGF-β1) and T lymphocyte immunoglobulin mucin 3 (Tim-3) levels in patients with hepatitis B.【Methods】Seventy patients with hepatitis B admitted to our hospitals were divided into the mild HBV group (22 cases),the moderate HBV group (30 cases) and the severe HBV group (18 cases) according to the severity of the disease.Another 30 healthy people who were examined at the same time were selected as the control group.The clinical blood biochemical data of all subjects,liver function indexes,TGF-β1,Tim-3 level and the ratio of HBsAg/HBV DNA were analyzed by Pearson correlation.【Results】The levels of serum alanine aminotransferase (ALT),aspartate aminotransferase (AST),total bilirubin (TBIL) and platelet count (PLT) in patients with HBV of different severity and the control groups were in order of the control group<the mild HBV group the moderate HBV group the severe HBV group.The differences among the groups were significant (P<0.05).The comparison of HBsAg/HBV DNA ratios in each group showed the order of the mild HBV group>the moderate HBV group>the severe HBV group (P<0.05).The levels of TGF -β1 and Tim-3 in the control group were lower than those in all HBV groups (the mild HBV group the moderate HBV group the severe HBV group) (all P<0.05).HBsAg/HBV DNA ratio-was significantly negatively correlated to levels of TGF-β1 and Tim-3 in Patients with Hepatitis B (P<0.05).【Conclusion】The ratio of HBsAg/HBV DNA is negatively related to levels of both TGF-β1 and Tim-3 in patients with hepatitis B.
