Abstract:【Objective】 To investigate the changes of serum transforming growth factor-β1(TGF-β1) and connective tissue growth factor (CTGF) levels in elderly hypertensive patients with chronic heart failure (CHF) and their correlation with cardiac function. 【Methods】 The clinical data of 130 elderly patients with hypertension complicated with CHF from January 2018 to July 2018 were selected (observation group) and 60 elderly patients with simple hypertension were selected as control group. Serum TGF-β1,CTGF and cardiac function were compared between the two groups, and the correlation between serum TGF-β1,CTGF and cardiac function was analyzed by Pearson correlation. 【Results】 The left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) in the observation group was significantly lower than that in the control group, and the left ventricular mass index (LVMI) of left ventricular end-diastolic diameter (LVEDd) was significantly higher than that of the control group (P<0.05). The serum levels of TGF-β1, CTGF in the observation group were significantly higher than those in the control group (P<0.05). The serum levels of TGF-β1,CTGF in patients with NYHA grade Ⅱ, Ⅲ and Ⅳ increased with the increase of NYHA grade, and the difference between the two groups was statistically significant (P<0.05). There was a significant negative correlation between serum TGF-β1,CTGF and LVEF in hypertensive patients with CHD, and a positive correlation between serum TGF-β1,CTGF and LVMI (P<0.05).【Conclusion】 Serum TGF-β1 and CTGF are significantly increased in elderly patients with hypertension and chronic heart failure and are closely related to cardiac function and myocardial remodeling.
