Abstract:【Objective】To investigate the expression and significance of growth arrest specific protein 5 (gas5) in serum and placenta of preeclampsia patients.【Methods】From January 2015 to December 2017, 43 preeclampsia patients (observation group) and 43 normal pregnant women (control group) were selected. Serum samples were collected before delivery and placenta samples were collected after delivery. Enzyme linked immunosorbent assay was used to detect the level of serum GAS5, real-time PCR was used to detect the level of GAS5 mRNA, SPSS Pearson correlation software was used to analyze the correlation between the incidence of preeclampsia and the level of serum GAS5 and placental GAS5.【Results】The levels of serum GAS5 and placental GAS5 mRNA were 0.185±0.121 and 0.12±0.05 in the observation group, respectively, which were significantly lower than those in the control group (0.332±0.036 and 0.452±0.019, P<0.05). The correlation analysis showed that the levels of serum GAS5 and placental GAS5 mRNA were negatively correlated with the incidence of preeclampsia (r=-0.693,P=0.038;r=-0.712,P=0.027).【Conclusion】 Serum GAS5 and placental GAS5 mRNA in preeclampsia patients show low expression, its expression is negatively related to the pathogenesis of preeclampsia, and may be involved in the occurrence and development of preeclampsia.
