Abstract:【Objective】 To investigate the value of neuronal expression developmentally downregulated gene 9(NEDD9) for diagnosis and prediction of prognosis in pancreatic cancer. 【Methods】A total of 80 patients with pancreatic cancer,who were treated for the first time in our hospital and confirmed by rapid pathological biopsy,were enrolled in the study. The pancreatic cancer tissues and normal tissues adjacent to the cancer were collected. The expression of NEDD9 in pancreatic cancer tissues and normal tissues was detected by both immunohistochemistry and qPCR. The relationship between NEDD9 and clinical features of pancreatic cancer was analyzed. And the effect of NDEE9 on clinical prognosis of patients with pancreatic cancer was discussed. 【Results】Compared to normal tissues,the expression rate of NEDD9 in pancreatic cancer tissues was significantly higher (71.25% vs 51.25%,P<0.05); And the level of NEDD9 mRNA was also significantly higher than that of normal tissue (0.92±0.17) vs (0.33±0.09),P<0.05). The clinical stage (stage Ⅰ-Ⅱ) and degree of differentiation (high differentiation) in patients with low expression of NEDD9 were significantly better than those who had higher expression level of NEDD9.Follow-up results showed that the expression level of NEDD9 in patients with poor prognosis (1.21±0.31) was significantly higher than that in the group with good prognosis (0.73±0.25) (P<0.05).Binary logistic regression analysis found that high expression of NEDD9 was an independent risk factor for negative prognosis of pancreatic cancer,and its odds ratio was 2.18 (1.16-4.01).【Conclusion】 NEDD9 was highly expressed in pancreatic cancer tissues and it was associated with clinical stage and pancreatic cancer grading. The high expression of NEDD9 was an independent risk factor for negative prognosis in patients with pancreatic cancer.
