Abstract:【Objective】 To investigate the effects of self-made Yiai decoction combined with capecitabine and oxaliplatin (XELOX regimen) on tumor markers, susceptibility genes and quality of life of patients with gastric cancer after operation. 【Methods】 A total of 86 cases of patients with gastric cancer treated who underwent radical gastrectomy were randomly divided into two groups, with 43 cases in each group. Patients in the control group received XELOX chemotherapy after operation, while patients in the combined group received self-made Yiai decoction combined with XELOX regimen. The curative effects were compared between the two groups. 【Results】 After chemotherapy the levels of carcinoembryonic antigen, carbohydrate antigen 125, carbohydrate antigen 199, gastrin and vasoactive intestinal peptide in the two groups were significantly decreased (P<0.05), while mRNA levels of breast cancer susceptibility gene 1 and breast cancer susceptibility gene 2 were significantly increased (P<0.05). The physical, functional, social family, emotional, doctor-patient relationship and cancer additional attention scores were significantly improved (P<0.05). Those changes in the combined group were more remarkable than in the control group (P<0.05). The degree of bone marrow suppression in the combined group was significantly lower than that in the control group (P<0.05). 【Conclusion】 Self-made Yiai decoction can significantly improve the curative effect of XELOX chemotherapy after radical gastrectomy, reduce the levels of serum tumor markers, and improve the quality of life of patients.
