Abstract:【Objective】To evaluate the changes of ventricular function and systolic synchrony after transcatheter closure of ventricular septal defect (VSD) by transesophageal echocardiography.【Methods】 The clinical data of 85 ventricular septal defect patients who underwent transcatheter closure in our hospital from June 2016 to February 2018 were retrospectively analyzed. Transesophageal echocardiography was performed at 1 weeks before surgery and 3, 6 months after surgery respectively. Left ventricular end systolic volume (ESV), left ventricular end diastolic volume (EDV), left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF), standardized value of peak ejection rate (PER/EDV), standardized value of peak filling rate (PFR/EDV) and systolic synchrony parameters: normalized value of the time difference between the 16 ventricular segments of the left ventricle reaching the end-systolic minimum volume (Tmsvl6-Dif / R-R%) and standard deviation normalized value (Tmsvl6-SD / R-R%) were obtained. 【Results】Compared to the value of 1 week before surgery, the ESV, EDV, LVEF, Tmsv 16-SD/R-R% and Tmsv 16-Dif/R-R% decreased significantly at 3 months after surgery (P<0.05). At 6 months after surgery, ESV, EDV and LVEF decreased further compared to 3 months after surgery (P<0.05). There were no significant differences in Tmsv 16-SD/R-R% and Tmsv 16-Dif/R-R% between 3 months and 6 months after surgery (P>0.05). Compared to pre-operation condition, PER / EDV decreased significantly at 6 months after surgery (P<0.05), while PFR / EDV did not have significant decrease (P>0.05).【Conclusion】Transesophageal echocardiography showed that ventricular function and systolic synchrony were improved significantly after transcatheter closure of ventricular septal defect.
