Abstract:【Objective】To explore the clinical significance of vestibular rotation test (VAT) and serum homocysteine (Hcy) in elderly patients with posterior circulation ischemic cerebral infarction.【Methods】From November 2015 to October 2017, 98 elderly patients with posterior circulation ischemic cerebral infarction and 30 healthy persons were selected. The VAT and serum Hcy levels of the two groups were compared, and the diagnostic sensitivity, specificity, positive likelihood ratio and negative likelihood ratio were evaluated. 【Results】The increase rate of VAT horizontal and vertical gain and serum Hcy level in the observation group were significantly higher than those in the control group (P<0.05); the positive rate of VAT test, abnormal rate of serum Hcy, positive rate of combined detection of VAT and serum Hcy in the observation group were significantly higher than those in the control group (P<0.05); the specificity and positive likelihood of combined detection of VAT and serum Hcy in the observation group were significantly higher than those in the control group alone (P<0.05). VAT test and serum Hcy test were used (P<0.05).【Conclusion】VAT test alone can improve the diagnostic accuracy of senile posterior circulation ischemic cerebral infarction, and combined with serum Hcy test can further evaluate the development and prognosis of the disease, which has good clinical application value.
