Abstract:【Objective】To explore the efficacy of Nicergoline combined with Donepezil in the treatment of elderly patients with hypertension and dementia. 【Methods】A total of 80 elderly patients with hypertension and dementia admitted to our hospital were divided into two groups using odd even number lottery method, with 40 cases in each group. Both groups of patients received conventional antihypertensive therapy with amlodipine and donepezil, while the observation group was treated with combination therapy with Nicergoline for one month. The 24-hour mean systolic blood pressure (24hSBP) and 24-hour mean diastolic blood pressure (24hDBP), left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF), nitric oxide (NO), endothelin (ET), acetylcholine (ACh) levels, as well as the scores of the Mini Mental State Scale (MMSE) and Clinical Idiotic Rating Scale (CDR) were compared between two groups of patients before and after treatment. 【Results】After treatment, the 24-hour SBP and 24-hour DBP of the observation group were lower than those of the control group (P<0.05); The LVEF, serum NO, and Ach levels in the observation group were higher than those in the control group (P<0.05), while the serum ET levels in the observation group were lower than those in the control group (P<0.05); After treatment, the MMSE score of the observation group was higher than that of the control group (P<0.05), while the CDR score was lower than that of the control group (P<0.05). 【Conclusion】The combination of Nicergoline and Donepezil in the treatment of elderly hypertensive patients with dementia helps to lower blood pressure, improve cardiac function indicators, and serum NO, ET, and ACh levels, effectively improving the patient's intelligence level, and achieving satisfactory clinical efficacy.
