Abstract:【Objective】 To investigate the clinical outcomes of modified transumbilical single hole laparoscopy for uterine fibroids.【Methods】 Eighty patients with uterine fibroids who were scheduled to undergo laparoscopic myomectomy at our institution from January 2017 to March 2018 were selected and divided into observation and control groups, 40 in each group, according to the random number table method.Modified transumbilical single hole laparoscopic myomectomy was used in the observation group, while traditional three hole laparoscopic myomectomy was used in the control group, and the perioperative indexes, postoperative pain levels, 2-year postoperative pregnancy rates and recurrence rates were compared between the two groups.【Results】 In the observation group, the operation time, postoperative hospital stay, drain removal time were shorter than those in the control group, and intraoperative blood loss was less than that in the control group, all of which were statistically significant (all P<0.05), but there was no significant difference between the two groups in the time to first ambulation and time to first flatus (all P>0.05). The visual analog scale (VAS) scores of the observation group were significantly lower than those of the control group at both 6 and 12 h postoperation (all P<0.05).There were no significant differences in the total incidence of complications, pregnancy and recurrence rates between the two groups (all P>0.05).【Conclusion】 The improved transumbilical Uniportal laparoscopic treatment of uterine fibroids is highly effective, leading to shorter operation time, less blood loss, less postoperative pain, and high safety, with little effect on recurrence and pregnancy rates, which merits clinical promotion.
