Abstract:【Objective】To evaluate the efficacy of retroauricular injection of methylprednisolone sodium succinate in the treatment of sudden deafness. 【Methods】Pubmed, Medline, CNKI, CBM, Weipu and Wanfang databases were retrieved electronically. Literatures that met the inclusion criteria were collected and data were extracted. RevMan 5.3 was used for meta-analysis. 【Results】14 literatures were included. Meta analysis showed that on the basis of routine treatment, the curative effect of retroauricular injection group was better than that of systemic hormone group, with RR (95% CI) of 1.29 (1.19, 1.40); the curative effect of retroauricular injection group was better than that of routine treatment except systemic hormone, with RR (95% CI) of 1.34 (1.10, 1.64); and the effect of systemic glucocorticoid therapy was better than that of systemic hormone therapy for sudden deafness. After injection of methylprednisolone sodium succinate, the curative effect was higher than that of the conventional treatment group, its RR (95% CI) was 1.13 (1.02, 1.26). 【Conclusion】Retroauricular injection of methylprednisolone sodium succinate is effective in the treatment of sudden deafness, which is worthy of promotion in clinical practice.
