Abstract:【Objective】To investigate the Correlation between homocysteine level and carotid intima-media thickness in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus complicated with H-type hypertension. 【Methods】There were 82 patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus complicated with H-type hypertension treated in our hospital from January to February 2019 were enrolled. According to the value of carotid intima-media thickness (IMT), patients were divided into IMT normal group (28 cases), IMT thickening group (30 cases) and carotid plaque group (24 cases). Detecting and comparing the body mass index (BMI), blood pressure, blood glucose, blood lipids, serum Hcy, blood uric acid (UA), glycosylated hemoglobin (HbA1C), serum creatinine (Scr), IMT levels among the three groups. The relationship between serum Hcy, HbA1C, blood pressure and carotid IMT was analyzed. 【Results】There were significant differences in serum Hcy, HbA1, IMT, systolic blood pressure and diastolic blood pressure between the three groups (P<0.05). The levels of serum Hcy, HbA1, IMT, systolic blood pressure and diastolic blood pressure in the carotid plaque group were significantly higher than those in the IMT thickening group. The serum levels of Hcy, HbA1, IMT, systolic blood pressure and diastolic blood pressure were significantly higher in the IMT thickening group than that in the normal IMT Group (P<0.05). Pearson correlation analysis showed that IMT was positively correlated with Hcy, HbA1C, systolic blood pressure and diastolic blood pressure (P<0.05). Using IMT as the test variable, Hcy, HbA1C, systolic blood pressure and diastolic blood pressure were used as independent variables to carry out two-class logistic regression analysis. The results showed that independent risk factors for IMT thickening were Hcy and systolic blood pressure. 【Conclusion】 The levels of serum Hcy, HbA1C and systolic blood pressure in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus complicated with H-type hypertension are significantly correlated with IMT, which is an independent risk factor for IMT thickening.
