Abstract:【Objective】To investigate the effects of bacterial lysates capsules combined with glucocorticoids on Th1/Th2 cytokines and pulmonary function in children with bronchitis. 【Methods】A total of 80 children with bronchitis admitted to our hospital from January 2018 to January 2021 were selected and divided into the observation group and the control group using a random number table method, with 40 cases in each group. Both groups received conventional antitussive, antiasthmatic, and anti-infection treatment after admission. The control group received budesonide suspension via nebulization. The observation group received oral bacterial lysates capsules in addition to the control group's treatment. The efficacy, disappearance time of clinical symptoms, and incidence of adverse reactions were compared between the two groups. The Th1/Th2 cytokines [interferon-γ (IFN-γ), interleukin-2 (IL-2), interleukin-4 (IL-4), interleukin-10 (IL-10)] and pulmonary function indicators [tidal breathing flow volume (TBFV), respiratory rate (RR), tidal volume (TV), ratio of time to peak tidal expiratory flow to total expiratory time (TPTEF/TE)] were compared before and after treatment. 【Results】The total effective rate in the observation group was 95.00% (38/40), significantly higher than that in the control group (80.00%, 32/40), with a statistically significant difference (P=0.043). The disappearance times of moist rales, cough, fever, and expectoration in the observation group were significantly shorter than those in the control group (P<0.05). Before treatment, there were no significant differences in IFN-γ, IL-2, IL-4, or IL-10 between the two groups (P>0.05). After treatment, the serum levels of IFN-γ, IL-2, and IL-10 in both groups were higher than those before treatment, while the IL-4 level was lower than before treatment. The observation group had higher serum levels of IFN-γ, IL-2, and IL-10 and a lower IL-4 level than the control group after treatment, with statistically significant differences (P<0.05). After treatment, the RR in both groups was lower than before treatment, while TV and TPTEF/TE were higher than before treatment. The observation group had a lower RR and higher TV and TPTEF/TE than the control group, with statistically significant differences (P<0.05). There was no significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups (P=0.288). 【Conclusion】Bacterial lysates capsules combined with glucocorticoids demonstrate good clinical efficacy in the treatment of pediatric bronchitis. They can effectively improve clinical symptoms, correct immune imbalance, enhance pulmonary function, and show good safety, indicating high application value.
