Abstract:【Objective】To investigate the effect of circulating tumor cells (CTC) on lung cancer metastasis and chemotherapy effect prediction. 【Methods】A total of 68 patients with lung cancer who were treated in our hospital from April 2015 to October 2016 were enrolled in the observation group. In the same time period, 57 patients with benign pulmonary diseases were selected as the control group and 63 healthy volunteers were enrolled as the blank control group. The positive rate of CTC in the vein was determined by immunomagnetic beads negative enrichment and cell immunofluorescence staining. All patients completed 4 cycles of chemotherapy. After the treatment, the patients were followed for 2 years. CTC positive rate at different treatment cycles were recorded. 【Results】The positive rate of CTC in the observation group was 60.29% (41/68), which was higher than that in the control group 5.26% (3/57) and the blank control group 7.94 (5/63). The difference between the observation group and control groups was statistically significant (P<0.05), however, there was no significant difference in the positive rate of CTC between the control group and the blank control group (P>0.05). Chemotherapy was completed and the patients in the observation group were followed up for 2 years. The follow-up results showed that 23 patients had metastasis (33.82%) and 41 patients with CR/PR (60.29%). There were statistically significant differences in terms of the positive rate of CTC in lung cancer patients with metastasis, non-metastasis and different effects of chemotherapy (P<0.05). 【Conclusion】CTC is highly expressed in lung cancer patients, which can predict metastasis. It can help to evaluate the effect of chemotherapy and provide reference for the adjustment of patients' chemotherapy plans.
