Abstract:【Objective】To investigate the expression of GTPase-activating protein SH3 domain-binding protein 1 (G3BP1) in tissues of patients with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) and its relationship with the efficacy of radiotherapy. 【Methods】The expression levels of G3BP1 protein were measured in the tissues of 133 NSCLC patients. The relationship between G3BP1 expression and NSCLC clinicopathological parameters as well as radiotherapy efficacy was analyzed. 【Results】There were statistically significant differences in G3BP1 protein levels among NSCLC tissues with different tumor diameters, TNM stages, and lymph node metastasis (P<0.05). The G3BP1 protein level in the radiotherapy effective group was lower than that in the ineffective group, with a statistically significant difference (P<0.05). The area under the receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve (AUC) for evaluating the efficacy of G3BP1, optimal cutoff point, sensitivity, and specificity were 0.802, 2.33, 86.54%, and 61.73%, respectively. Logistic multivariate regression analysis showed that tumor diameter, TNM stage, lymph node metastasis, acute radiation pneumonitis, and G3BP1 level were independent risk factors affecting the efficacy of radiotherapy in NSCLC (P<0.05). 【Conclusion】G3BP1 is related to tumor diameter, TNM stage, and lymph node metastasis in NSCLC. Its level can provide a reference for evaluating the efficacy of radiotherapy in patients.
