Abstract:【Objective】 To explore the value of 18F deoxyglucose positron emission computed tomography (18F-PDG PET/CT) in the evaluation of recurrence and metastasis of esophageal cancer and the efficacy of radiotherapy. 【Methods】 A total of 58 patients with suspected recurrence and metastasis of esophageal cancer in our hospital were selected, all of them underwent 18F-PDG PET / CT examination, and the confirmed patients were treated with radiotherapy, and the differences of related parameters of patients with different curative effects were analyzed.【Results】 Of the 58 patients, 39 cases were diagnosed with recurrence and metastasis. A total of 103 lesions were detected in 58 patients, and 59 were confirmed with recurrence and metastasis; the sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value, negative predictive value and accuracy of 18F-PDG PET / CT were 93.22%, 77.27%, 84.62%, 89.47% and 86.41%, respectively.After radiotherapy, there were 12 patients with complete remission (CR), 20 patients with partial remission (PR) and 7 patients with no change (NR), the total effective rate was 82.05% (32 / 39); the average standard uptake value (SUVavg), maximum standard uptake value (SUVmax) and glucose transporter protein (GLUT1) levels of Cr patients after radiotherapy were significantly lower than those of PR and NR patients (P<0.05), but there was no significant difference between PR and NR patients (P<0.05).【Conclusion】18F-PDG PET/CT has a good application value in judging the recurrence and metastasis of esophageal cancer patients, and it can also improve the judgment of radiotherapy efficacy.
