Abstract:【Objective】To explore the application value of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and CT in the diagnosis of neonatal hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy (HIE). 【Methods】A total of 70 neonates with HIE treated in our hospital from January 2016 to March 2018 were selected. All patients were examined by MRI and CT. The detection rates of MRI and CT for HIE detection, clinical index, subarachnoid hemorrhage, cerebral edema, basal ganglia hemorrhage, ventricular hemorrhage and ventricular dilatation were compared between the two groups. 【Results】The neonatal HIE detection rate of MRI was 100.00% (70/70), which was higher than that of CT 91.43% (64/70); the difference was statistically significant (χ2=4.353,P<0.05). The Kappa value of MRI and HIE clinical grading was 0.781 (P<0.05), which showed that the consistency was excellent. The Kappa value of CT and HIE clinical grading was 0.615 (P<0.05); the consistency was good. The MRI detection rate of subarachnoid hemorrhage was 25.71%, which was significantly higher than that of CT (11.43%,P<0.05); There were no significant differences in the detection rates of brain edema, basal ganglia hemorrhage, ventricular hemorrhage and ventricular dilatation between MRI and CT (P>0.05). 【Conclusion】Compared to CT examination, MRI has the advantages of high detection rate and high consistency with clinical classification in the diagnosis of neonatal HIE, which is suitable for clinical application.
