Abstract：【Objective】To investigate the changes and clinical significance of serum neuron specific enolase (NSE) and gastrin releasing peptide precursor fragment 31-98 (ProGRP) in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) . 【Methods】A total of 90 patients with NSCLC in our hospital from January 2017 to September 2017 were enrolled in the NSCLC group and 90 healthy subjects were recruited in the control group. Serum NSE and ProGRP levels were measured and compared between the two groups. The difference in serum NSE and ProGRP levels in patients with NSCLC who had pleural effusion, lymph node metastasis, different TNM stages, and histological differentiation were analyzed. 【Results】 Serum levels of NSE and ProGRP were significantly higher in the NSCLC group than in the control group (P<0.05). Serum NSE and ProGRP levels in patients with TNM stage Ⅲ~Ⅳ and lymph metastasis were significantly higher than those with TNM stage Ⅰ~Ⅱ and no lymph metastasis The difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). The serum levels of NSE and ProGRP did not show difference in patients with different degrees of NSCLC differentiation and with pleural effusion; the difference was not statistically significant (P>0.05). 【Conclusion】Serum NSE and ProGRP levels were significantly elevated in NSCLC patients, and the increase was more significant in the serum of patients with lymph node metastasis and advanced TNM stage.
