Abstract:【Objective】This study aims to explore the effect of chloroprocaine combined epidural anesthesia in cesarean section on maternal inflammatory factors and pain intensity. 【Methods】A total of 100 pregnant women undergoing cesarean section from two hospitals were randomly divided into an observation group and a control group, with 50 cases in each. The observation group received an intravenous injection 5 mL of 3% chloroprocaine 10 minutes after morphine injection, while the control group received an intravenous injection 5 mL of 0.9% saline solution 10 minutes before morphine injection. The levels of inflammatory factors [interleukin-2(IL-2), interleukin-10(IL-10), tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α)] before surgery and 4, 12, 24, 48 hours after surgery were compared between the two groups, as well as the Visual Analog Scale (VAS) and Ramsay Sedation Scores before surgery and 2, 6, 12, 24, 48 hours after surgery, and the incidence of adverse reactions in both groups. 【Results】 The levels of IL-2 at 4, 12, 24, 48 hours after surgery in both groups were significantly lower than those before surgery (P<0.05), while the level of IL-10 was significantly higher than before surgery (P<0.05). IL-2 levels at all time points in the observation group were significantly lower and IL-10 levels of the observation group at 12, 24 hours after surgery were higher if compared to the control group (P<0.05). TNF-α levels in the observation group at all time points did not significantly change compared to before surgery (P>0.05), while in the control group, TNF-α levels at 4, 12, 24 hours after surgery were significantly higher than before surgery (P<0.05), and TNF-α levels at 4, 12, 24 hours in the observation group were lower than those in the control group (P<0.05). VAS scores and sedation scores of both groups at all time points after surgery increased compared to before surgery (P<0.05), with lower VAS scores and higher sedation scores in the observation group at all time points after surgery (P<0.05) if compared to those in the control group. There was no significant difference in the total incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups (P>0.05). 【Conclusion】 In cesarean section, chloroprocaine combined with epidural anesthesia can effectively reduce maternal inflammatory factors and pain intensity, with good sedation effects and few adverse reactions, making it worthy of clinical promotion and application.
