Abstract:【Objective】 To investigate the correlation between the polymorphisms of IL-10 the susceptibility to sepsis in term newborns.【Methods】 A prospective analysis of the clinical data of 107 Han nationality term newborns admitted to our hospital from June 2020 to May 2021 was conducted. They were divided into sepsis group (56 newborns with sepsis) and control group (51 newborns with pharyngeal syndrome and non infectious diarrhea) based on whether they were diagnosed as sepsis. The polymorphism of the IL-10 rs1800872,rs1800896 gene was detected using first-generation sequencing technology,and the distribution differences of genotype and allele frequencies between the two groups were compared. Logistic regression was used to analyze the correlation between the IL-10 rs1800872C/A,1800896G/A genotypes and the susceptibility to sepsis in term infants. 【Results】 In the sepsis group,15 cases were positive for blood culture,including 9 cases of Escherichia coli,2 cases of Staphylococcus,1 case of Staphylococcus hemolyticus,1 case of Streptococcus viridis,1 case of Streptococcus lactis,and 1 case of Enterococcus faecium. The blood culture in the control group was negative. The WBC,serum CRP,and PCT levels in the sepsis group were significantly higher than those in the control group (P<0.05). There was no significant difference in the distribution of genotype and allele frequencies of IL-10 gene rs1800872C/A,rs1800896G/A between the two groups (P>0.05). Logistic regression analysis showed that there was no correlation between the genotype of IL-10 gene rs1800872C/A and rs1800896G/A and the susceptibility to sepsis in term newborns (P>0.05). 【Conclusion】 The IL-10 genes rs1800872C/A and rs1800896G/A may not be susceptible genes for sepsis in term newborns.
