Abstract:【Objective】 To explore the effects of wrist-ankle acupuncture combined with ropivacaine and sufentanil for labor analgesia.【Methods】 Ninety-four parturients undergoing vaginal delivery were randomly divided into two groups. The control group received analgesia with ropivacaine and sufentanil, while the observation group received additional wrist-ankle acupuncture. The analgesic effects, stress indicators, and other related conditions were compared between the two groups.【Results】 At 1 hour, 3 hours after intervention, and 1 hour postpartum, the Visual Analog Scale (VAS) scores of both groups gradually decreased compared to before intervention, with statistically significant differences at different time points (P<0.05). The observation group had lower VAS scores than the control group (P<0.05). Postpartum, the serum levels of substance P (SP), cortisol (Cor), and neuropeptide Y (NPY) in both groups increased compared to before delivery (P<0.05), but were lower in the observation group than in the control group (P<0.05). The first stage of labor and total labor time were shorter in the observation group than in the control group (P<0.05). At 1 hour, 3 hours after intervention, and 1 hour postpartum, the mean arterial pressure (MAP) and heart rate (HR) of both groups decreased compared to before intervention (P<0.05), and were lower in the observation group than in the control group (P<0.05). After the intervention, the Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Scale (EPDS) scores of both groups increased compared to before intervention (P<0.05), but were lower in the observation group than in the control group (P<0.05). There was no statistically significant difference in the overall incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups (P>0.05).【Conclusion】 Wrist-ankle acupuncture combined with ropivacaine and sufentanil for labor analgesia can effectively enhance analgesic effects, stabilize hemodynamic levels, shorten the first stage of labor, reduce postpartum depression, and has good safety.
