Abstract：【Objective】To explore the clinical efficacy of Jicheng Yushang tablets in the treatment of osteoporotic thoracolumbar vertebral compression fractures (OVCF).【Methods】A total of 64 OVCF patients who underwent conservative treatment in our hospital from June 2022 to June 2023 were selected and randomly divided into an observation group and a control group, with 32 cases in each group, using a random number table method. The control group was treated with calcium carbonate D600 tablets combined with alpha calciferol in addition to basic treatment, while the observation group was treated with our hospital's Jicheng Yushang with callus tablets in addition to the control group, both of which were treated for 3 months.We compared the visual analogue scale (VAS) scores Oswestry Disability Index (ODI), Traditional Chinese Medicine Symptoms and Signs/TCM Syndrome Score between two groups before treatment, 1 week after treatment, 4 weeks after treatment, and 3 months after treatment. The two groups were compared in terms of bone density, Cobb angle of injured vertebrae, and recovery rate of injured vertebrae height and Cobb angle improvement rate before and after 3 months of treatment.【Results】After 3 months of treatment, the VAS score of the observation group ODI,the scores of traditional Chinese medicine symptoms and signs/syndromes were better than those of the control group (P<0.05). However, in the early stages (after 1 week and 4 weeks of treatment), there was no statistically significant difference in the above indicators between the two groups (P>0.05). After 3 months of treatment, the bone density value in the observation group was significantly improved compared to the control group (P<0.05), and the recovery rate of injured vertebral height in both groups after 3 months of treatment was not significant, there was no statistically significant difference in the improvement rate of Cobb angle (P>0.05).【Conclusion】Jicheng Yushang tablets can alleviate pain, improve functional impairments, symptoms, and signs in patients with OVCF, and are worthy of clinical promotion and application.
