Abstract:【Objective】 To explore the effect of brain-awakening acupuncture and moxibustion on the recovery process of limb function of stroke patients with hemiplegia during rehabilitation. 【Methods】 A total of 102 patients with post-stroke hemiplegia were randomly divided into two groups, with 51 cases in each group. The patients in the control group received routine rehabilitation training, and the patients in the observation group were treated with traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) acupuncture and moxibustion on this basis; After treatment for 4 weeks, the clinical efficacy, traditional Chinese medicine symptom scores, Brunnstrom staging, motor function [fugl meyer motor function (FMA) assessment scale, berg balance scale (BBS)], neurological function, and daily living activities [national institutes of health stroke scale (NIHSS), modified Rankin Scale (mRS)] were compared between two groups of patients【Results】 The total effective rate of the observation group was higher than that of the control group (P<0.05). After treatment, the scores of symptoms such as dark red tongue, dark purple claws, dull complexion, numbness, swelling of hands and feet, and dark lips and gums in both groups of patients decreased compared to before treatment (P<0.05), and the observation group had lower scores than the control group (P<0.05). After treatment, the proportion of Brunnstrom stage Ⅲ in the upper limbs, lower limbs, and hands in the observation group was higher than that in the control group (P<0.05). After treatment, the FMA upper and lower limb scores and BBS scores in both groups increased compared to before treatment (P<0.05), and the FMA upper and lower limb scores and BBS scores in the observation group were higher than those in the control group after treatment (P<0.05). After treatment, the NIHSS score and mRS score of both groups decreased compared to before treatment (P<0.05), and the observation group had lower NIHSS score and mRS score than the control group after treatment (P<0.05).【Conclusion】 Brain-awakening acupuncture and moxibustion can effectively improve the TCM syndromes of hemiplegia patients in the rehabilitation period after stroke, improve the Brunstrom stage and motor ability of limbs, and improve neural function defects. The comprehensive effect is good, and it is recommended to promote its application.
