Abstract：【Objective】To explore whether vitamin D calcium chewable tablets can prevent the recurrence of idiopathic benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV). 【Methods】From December 2015 to December 2017, 138 patients with idiopathic BPPV were randomly divided into the observation group and the control group, 69 cases in each group. Both groups were treated with manual reduction to achieve clinical cure. The observation group was treated with vitamin D calcium chewable tablets (Diqiao) 750 mg, once a day, orally. The control group was given placebo orally. BPPV patients in both groups were followed up for 1 year, once every 4 months, and the recurrence times were recorded.【Results】After one year of follow-up, 67 patients in the observation group had a recurrence rate of 11.9% (8/67) and 68 patients in the control group had a recurrence rate of 27.9% (18/68). The recurrence rate in the observation group was significantly lower than that in the control group (P<0.05). 【Conclusion】 Vitamin D calcium chewable tablets can significantly reduce the recurrence rate of idiopathic BPPV.
