Abstract:【Objective】To explore the efficacy of vitamin D adjuvant therapy in children with bronchial asthma and the relationship between the concentration of serum 25-hydroxyvitamin D3[25 (OH)D3] and the indexes (IgE and FeNO) of airway hyperresponsiveness and organism allergic response indexes.【Methods】A total of 108 children with bronchial asthma were selected for the study and randomly divided into the observation group (n=54) and the control group (n=54). In addition, 50 healthy children during the same period were selected as healthy group. The control group was given routine treatment for asthma, and the observation group was given vitamin D intervention for 3 months on the basis of routine treatment. The efficacy of the two groups was compared. At the same time, the serum levels of vitamin D3, serum total IgE and exhaled NO (FeNO) were recorded among groups, and the relationship between serum 25 (OH)D3level and serum total IgE and FeNO was analyzed.【Results】The total effective rate of treatment in the observation group was 90.74% (49/54), which was higher than that in the control group 75.93% (41/54); the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). The levels of serum vitamin D3in both control and observation groups were significantly lower than that in healthy group (P<0.05), while the total serum levels of IgE and FeNO were higher than those in healthy group (P<0.05). Pearson correlation analysis showed that serum 25 (OH)D3level was negatively correlated with IgE and FeNO (r=-0.825, P=0.001;r=-0.876, P=0.001).【Conclusion】Vitamin D supplementation adjuvant therapy can enhance the efficacy of pediatric bronchial asthma and improve pulmonary function. Serum 25 (OH)D3level is negatively correlated with airway hyperresponsiveness and body allergic response indexes (serum total IgE and FeNO).
