Abstract：【Objective】To investigate the diagnostic value of color Doppler ultrasound in pediatric patients with congenital extra-hepatic portosystemic shunt(CEPS). 【Methods】The ultrasonographic features of 7 children with CEPS diagnosed by ultrasound and confirmed by multi-helix CT or surgery were analyzed retrospectively.【Results】All the 7 cases were confirmed by CT or surgical operation were diagnosed as 6 cases with type Ⅱ, 1 case with type Ib and 4 cases with congenital heart disease. Color Doppler ultrasound can detect the abnormal blood flow sensitively and determine the direction and velocity of blood flow. The diagnostic accuracy is high and the results are consistent with the results of CT or surgery.【Conclusion】As a rapid and simple method, color Doppler ultrasound can clearly show the origin and route of extrahepatic portal-systemic venous shunt. It can be used as the first choice for CEPS.
