Clinical Efficacy of Yiqi Yangyin Decoction Assisted with Dapagliflozin and Metformin in the Treatment of Patients with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus and its Impact on Vascular Endothelial Function

Abstract：【Objective】To explore the clinical efficacy of Yiqi Yangyin Decoction assisted with dapagliflozin and metformin in the treatment of patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) and its impact on vascular endothelial function. 【Methods】A total of 94 T2DM patients admitted to Fangcheng County Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from February 2022 to February 2024 were selected and divided into an observation group and a control group by coin toss method, with 47 cases in each group. The control group received conventional treatment with dapagliflozin and metformin, while the observation group was given additional Yiqi Yangyin Decoction on the basis of the control group. The blood glucose indicators [fasting plasma glucose (FPG), glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c), 2-hour postprandial blood glucose (2hPG)], TCM syndrome scores, vascular endothelial function indicators [adiponectin (ADPN), nitric oxide (NO), endothelin (ET)], and the occurrence of adverse reactions were compared between the two groups. 【Results】After treatment, the levels of FPG, HbA1c, 2hPG, ET and TCM syndrome scores in the observation group were lower than those in the control group (P<0.05), while the levels of ADPN and NO were higher than those in the control group (P<0.05). The total incidence of adverse reactions in the observation group was lower than that in the control group (P<0.05).【Conclusion】Yiqi Yangyin Decoction assisted with dapagliflozin and metformin can effectively improve the blood glucose level and vascular endothelial function of T2DM patients, reduce the incidence of adverse reactions, improve the TCM syndrome score, and has high safety.
