Abstract 【Objective】To investigate the expression and clinical significance of non chromosomal structure maintenance subunit (SMC) agglutinin ⅰ complex subunit G(NCAPG) gene in colorectal cancer. 【Methods】Oncomine database, GEPIA database and UALCAN database were used to analyze the difference of NCAPG expression in colorectal cancer and normal tissues, and the relationship between NCAPG expression and clinical indicators was analyzed as well. GEPIA and GSCA databases were used to analyze the relationship between the expression level of NCAPG and the prognosis of colorectal cancer patients. TIMER database was used to analyze the correlation between NCAPG and immune infiltrating cells. GSCA database was used to analyze the activity of NCAPG in tumor pathways.【Results】The expression of NCAPG gene was up-regulated in colorectal cancer tissues, and the expression level of NCAPG was correlated with the clinical stage and lymph node stage of the tumor. Patients with increased expression of NCAPG had better overall survival (OS) and progression-free survival (PFS). NCAPG can promote the expression of CD8+T cells. NCAPG was associated with apoptosis, cell division, epithelial-mesenchymal transformation (EMT) and estrogen receptor (ER) in colorectal cancer, which had CCNB1 gene as co-expressed gene.【Conclusion】The expression of NCAPG gene is increased in colorectal cancer, and the high expression of NCAPG gene can lead to a better prognosis, which can be used as a prognostic biomarker in colorectal cancer. Further experimental and clinical trials are essential to further clarify the value of NCAPG gene in colorectal cancer.
