| Efficacy of Sintilimab Combined with the SOX Regimen in the Treatment of Advanced Gastric Cancer |

Abstract 【Objective】 To investigate the clinical efficacy of sintilimab combined with the SOX regimen in the treatment of advanced gastric cancer. 【Methods】 A total of 90 patients with advanced gastric cancer admitted to our hospital between June 2021 and June 2025 were randomly divided into a control group (treated with the SOX regimen) and an observation group (treated with sintilimab combined with the SOX regimen), with 45 patients in each group. Immune function indicators, angiogenesis indicators [endostatin (ES), vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), and angiopoietin-2 (Ang-2)], tumor markers [carbohydrate antigen 125 (CA125), carbohydrate antigen 19-9 (CA19-9), and carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA)], functional status [Karnofsky Performance Status (KPS) score], activities of daily living [Activities of Daily Living (ADL) score], and adverse reactions were compared between the two groups before and after treatment. 【Results】 After 4 cycles of treatment, the levels of CD3+, CD4+, and CD4+/CD8+ in the observation group were significantly higher than those in the control group, while the CD8+ level was significantly lower than that in the control group (all P<0.05). The ES level of posttreatment in the observation group was significantly higher than that in the control group, whereas VEGF and Ang-2 levels were significantly lower than those in the control group (P<0.05). Levels of CA125, CA19-9, and CEA in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group (P<0.05), while KPS and ADL scores were significantly higher than those in the control group (P<0.05). There was no statistically significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups (P>0.05). 【Conclusion】 Sintilimab combined with the SOX regimen for advanced gastric cancer can effectively enhance immune function, inhibit tumor angiogenesis, reduce tumor marker levels, and improve quality of life, with good safety.
