Application of Early Nourishing Enteral Nutrition in Patients with Severe Cerebral Infarction |

Abstract 【Objective】To investigate the efficacy of early nourishing enteral nutrition in patients with severe cerebral infarction. 【Methods】A total of 72 patients with severe cerebral infarction admitted from February 2020 to December 2022 were divided into the control group and the observation group according to random number table method, with 36 patients in each group. Patients in the control group received conventional treatment, while those in the observation group underwent early nourishing enteral nutrition therapy in addition to conventional treatment. The cognitive function, immune function, rehabilitation effect and adverse reactions were compared between the two groups before and after treatment.【Results】After treatment, the orientation score, language ability score, calculation ability score, attention score, and memory score of the two groups were higher than those before treatment, and the observation group was higher than the control group, with statistically significant differences (P<0.05). After treatment, the CD3+ and CD4+/CD8+ levels of the two groups were higher than those before treatment, and the observation group was higher than the control group, with statistically significant differences (P<0.05). After treatment, the Glasgow Coma Scale(GCS) scores of the two groups were higher than those before treatment, while the National Institute of Health stroke scale(NIHSS) scores were lower than those before treatment. The GCS score of the observation group was higher than that of the control group, and the NIHSS score was lower than that of the control group, with statistically significant differences (P<0.05). The incidence of adverse reactions in the observation group was lower than that in the control group, with statistically significant differences (P<0.05). 【Conclusion】Early nourishing enteral nutrition in the treatment of severe cerebral infarction can enhance the immune function of patients, improve the cognitive function, promote the rehabilitation of patients, improve neurological function, and reduce the incidence of adverse reactions.
