Abstract  【Objective】To investigate the expression and significance of miR-125b and miR-146a in patients with acute exacerbation of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (AECOPD).【Methods】A total of 106 AECOPD patients (AECOPD group), 99 stable COPD patients (COPD group) and 101 healthy people (control group) were selected as the research objects, Real time quantitative polymerase chain reaction (RT qPCR) was used to detect and compare the relative expression levels of miR-125b and miR-146a in serum of three groups. The correlation between miR-125b and miR-146a and inflammatory factors LTB-4, IL-1β, IL-6, IL-8 and TNF -α was analyzed, and their diagnostic value in AECOPD patients was also analyzed.【Results】The relative expression levels of serum miR-125b in the AECOPD group were significantly higher than those in the COPD group and the control group, and the relative expression levels of serum miR-146a in the AECOPD group were significantly lower than those in the COPD group and the control group (all P<0.05); however, there was no significant difference in the relative expression levels of serum miR-125b and miR-146a between the COPD group and the control group (P>0.05). In the AECOPD group, the relative expression of miR-125b in serum on d1,d7,d14 and D28 decreased with the extension of treatment time, while miR-146a increased with the extension of treatment time, and the differences were statistically significant (all P<0.05).【Conclusion】The abnormal expression of miR-125b and miR-146a in serum of patients with AECOPD is closely related to the level of inflammatory factors, which is helpful to the diagnosis of AECOPD.
