| Application of Whole Course Medication Management Model in Day Cataract Surgery Patients |

Abstract 【Objective】To investigate the impact of implementing the whole course medication management model for patients with day cataract surgery. 【Methods】A total of 100 patients with cataract in Xiangya Hospital Central South University from January to December in 2017 were randomly divided into the observation group (n=50) and the control group (n=50). The patients in the control group were given routine medication guidance, while patients in the experimental group received individualized whole course medication management. All patients were followed up for 1 month. The vision, eye drop instillation technique, local medication attainment, eye comfort, hand hygiene implementation rate and satisfaction were compared between the two groups of patients before intervention, 1 week and 1 month after the intervention. 【Results】Results showed that there was no difference in visual acuity between the two groups of patients before and after the intervention (P>0.05). However, eye drop technique, topical drug attainment, eye comfort, hand hygiene implementation rate and satisfaction of the observation group at 1 week and 1 month after the intervention were better than those of the control group (P<0.05). 【Conclusion】The whole course medication management model can effectively improve proficiency in eye drop instillation and medication attainment, reduce pain and irritation after day cataract surgery, and increase patient satisfaction and care quality.
