Abstract 【Objective】 To investigate the effect of a narrative nursing intervention model on lung cancer patients who experienced adverse reactions after treatment with immune checkpoint inhibitors. 【Methods】 A total of 66 lung cancer patients with immunotherapy-related adverse reactions (≥ grade 2 according to CTCAE) admitted from January 2024 to February 2025 were randomly divided into an observation group and a control group, with 33 patients in each group. Both groups received routine nursing care, while the observation group additionally received narrative nursing intervention. The incidence of new adverse reactions within 4 weeks after intervention, time to adverse reaction relief, anxiety and depression levels [assessed using the Hospital Anxiety Scale (HAMA-14) and Hospital Depression Scale (HAMD-17)], and self-efficacy [assessed using the Strategies Used by People to Promote Health (SUPPH) scale] were compared between the two groups. 【Results】The overall incidence of adverse reactions in the observation group was 21.21% (7/33), which was significantly lower than that in the control group [45.45% (15/33)] (P<0.05). The relief times of rash, pruritus, thyroid dysfunction, gastrointestinal diarrhea, and immune-related pneumonia were shorter in the observation group than in the control group (all P<0.05). After 4 weeks of intervention, the anxiety and depression scores in the observation group were lower than those in the control group (all P<0.05), while all dimensions of the SUPPH scores were higher than those in the control group (all P<0.05). 【Conclusion】The narrative nursing intervention model can significantly reduce the incidence of immunotherapy-related adverse reactions, shorten the duration of adverse reactions, and improve patients' anxiety, depression, and self-efficacy in lung cancer patients.
