| Effects of Dexmedetomidine and Midazolam on Agitation during Recovery from Intravenous Inhalation Anesthesia in Children |

Abstract 【Objective】To analyze the effect of dexmedetomidine (Dex) and midazolam on prevention of agitation (EA) during anesthesia recovery in children with intravenous inhalation combined anesthesia. 【Methods】A total of 60 children in our hospital who received intravenous inhalation compound anesthesia from March 2020 to March 2021 were selected and divided into two groups according to anesthesia drugs,the control group (30 cases with Mida anesthesia) and the observation group (30 cases with Dex anesthesia). The anesthesia time,operation time,recovery time and the incidence of agitation at different time points during the recovery period were compared between the two groups. 【Results】The anesthesia time,operation time and recovery time of the two groups were not statistically significant difference (P>0.05). The incidence of agitation at 5 min,10 min,15 min and 20 min after extubation in the observation group was lower than that in the control group (P< 0.05). The incidence of agitation immediately and 30 min after extubation between the observation group and the control group was not statistically significant difference (P>0.05). 【Conclusion】Dexmedetomidine is better than midazolam in preventing agitation in children with intravenous inhalation combined anesthesia.
