Abstract  【Objective】 To investigate the effect of donepezil hydrochloride combined with nicergoline on the efficacy and stress status of elderly patients with Alzheimer's disease. 【Methods】 A retrospective analysis was made of 115 elderly patients with AD who were treated in our hospital from June 2015 to January 2018. According to the treatment methods, they were divided into observation group (n=65) and control group (n=50). The control group was treated with nimodipine, and the observation group was treated with donepezil on the basis of the control group. After treatment for one month, the therapeutic effect and the levels of serum homocysteine (Hcy), neuron specific enolase (NSE), central neuron specific protein (S100 β), orgotein (SOD), glutathione peroxidase (GSH Px), malondialdehyde (MDA), the end product of lipoxygenation, and the incidence of adverse reactions were compared. 【Results】 The total effective rate of the observation group was 92.31%, which was significantly higher than that of the control group (78.00%) (P<0.05). Before treatment, there was no significant difference in serum Hcy, NSE and S100βlevels between the two groups (P>0.05); after treatment, the serum Hcy, NSE, S100 β and MDA levels of the two groups decreased (P<0.05), SOD and GSH Px levels increased, SOD and GSH PX levels of the observation group were significantly higher than those of the control group (P< 0.05), and the changes of the observation group were more obvious. The total incidence of adverse reactions in the observation group was 6.15%, which was significantly lower than that in the control group (22.00%) (P<0.05).【Conclusion】 Donepezil hydrochloride combined with nimodipine in the treatment of elderly patients with AD has a significant effect, can significantly reduce the level of Hcy, NSE, S100β, regulate the level of SOD, GSH Px and MDA, and has a high safety, which is worthy of clinical application.
