Abstract:【Objective】To explore the application value of intervention mode dominated by tongue muscle function training in early correction of malocclusion patients.【Methods】A total of 122 patients with malocclusion admitted to Qingdao Central Hospital from November 2018 to February 2021 were selected and divided into the observation group (n=70) and the control group (n=52) according to the wishes of their families. The control group received routine intervention mode, while the observation group received tongue muscle function training as the dominant intervention mode on the basis of routine intervention. We compared the occlusal function and oral related quality of life between two groups of patients before and after intervention.【Results】After intervention, AOF, AOA and OII of two groups were all lower than those before intervention, NOC was higher than that before intervention, and AOF, AOA and OII in the observation group were lower than those of the control group. The NOC was higher than that of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). After intervention, the OHIP-14 scores in various fields and total scores in both groups were lower than those before intervention, and the observation group was lower than the control group, with a statistically significant difference (P<0.05).【Conclusion】The intervention model led by tongue muscle function training in early correction of malocclusion in patients can effectively improve their bite ability and is of great significance for improving their oral quality of life.
