Abstract:【Objective】To investigate the clinical efficacy of Wumei Pill decoction in treating elderly hepatitis B cirrhosis with insomnia. 【Methods】A total of 76 elderly patients with hepatitis B cirrhosis and insomnia who were admitted to Hanzhong Railway Central Hospital from February 2018 to October 2019 were selected. They were divided into observation group (n=38) and control group (n=38) according to the random number table method. The control group received conventional basic treatment, while the observation group received oral administration of Wumei Pill decoction on the basis of the treatment in the control group. Both groups were treated for 2 weeks. Sleep quality was evaluated before and after treatment in both groups. The levels of liver function indicators total bilirubin (TBIL), alanine aminotransferase (ALT), aspartate aminotransferase (AST), and albumin (ALB) were analyzed before and after treatment in both groups. The prothrombin time (PT) and the occurrence of adverse reactions were compared between the two groups before and after treatment.【Results】 After treatment, the PSQI index in both groups was lower than before treatment, with that in the observation group being lower than in the control group (P<0.05). After treatment, TBIL, PT, ALT, and AST in both groups were lower than before treatment (P<0.05), while ALB was higher than before treatment (P<0.05). AST, TBIL, ALT, and PT in the observation group after treatment were lower than those in the control group (P<0.05), while ALB was significantly higher than that in the control group (P<0.05). The incidence of adverse reactions in the observation group was 15.79%, and that in the control group was 21.05%, without significant difference (χ2=0.35, P>0.05). 【Conclusion】Wumei Pill can effectively improve sleep quality and liver function in elderly patients with hepatitis B cirrhosis and insomnia without significant adverse reactions, with high safety and certain clinical promotion value.
