Abstract:【Objective】To investigate the expression of matrix metalloproteinase-9 (MMP-9), matrix metalloproteinase 2 (MMP-2), filagin A (FLNa) and migration-inducible protein-7 (MIG-7) in colon cancer and reveal their correlation with clinicopathological factors and prognosis of colon cancer. 【Methods】A total of 120 patients with colon cancer who underwent surgical resection in our hospital were enrolled in the study. The postoperative cancer tissues and adjacent tissues were taken to measure the expression of MMP-9, MMP-2, FLNa and MIG-7 in colon cancer by immunohistochemical examination. Meanwhile their relationship with clinical pathological factors and prognosis were analyzed as well. 【Results】 The positive rates of MMP-9, MMP-2 and MIG-7 in cancer tissues were higher than those in adjacent tissues, while the positive rate of FLNa in cancer tissues was lower than that in adjacent tissues (P<0.05). The lymph node metastasis rate, phase Ⅲ ratio, vascular infiltration rate, and middle and low differentiation rate of MMP-9, MMP-2, and MIG-7 positive patients were higher than those with negative expression patients(P<0.05), however, the lymph node metastasis rate, phase Ⅲ ratio, vascular infiltration rate, and middle and low differentiation rate of FLNa positive patients were lower than those with negative expression patients (P<0.05). The median follow-up time was 26 months and 22 patients died. COX multivariate analysis showed that TNM stage, FLNa, MIG-7, MMP-2, MMP-9, tumor differentiation, and lymph node metastasis were independent factors of survival (P<0.05). 【Conclusion】MMP-9, MMP-2 and MIG-7 are highly expressed in colon cancer tissues, and FLNa is lowly expressed in colon cancer tissues. The expressions of FLNa, MIG-7, MMP-2 and MMP-9 are associated with tumor invasion and prognosis.
