Abstract:【Objective】To analyze the risk factors of bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD) in very (extremely) low birth weight premature infants. 【Methods】A total of 139 premature infants with birth weight less than 1500g were collected from the NICU of Changsha Hospital for Maternal&Child Health Care, from January 2017 to December 2019. According to whether be diagnosed as BPD, they were divided into the non-BPD group (n=81) and the BPD group (n=58). The differences between the two groups of premature infants in terms of maternal age, chorioamnionitis, gender, gestational age, and birth weight of the children were compared, and independent risk factors for BPD occurrence were analyzed by multivariate logistic regression.【Results】The proportion of mothers with chorioamnionitis and assisted conception in premature infants in the BPD group was higher than that in the non-BPD group, and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). The hospital stay of premature infants in the BPD group was higher than that in the non-BPD group. The proportion of males, invasive ventilator use, neonatal respiratory distress syndrome (NRDS), pulmonary surfactant (PS), neonatal pneumonia, and pharyngeal swab UU (ureaplasma urealyticum) positive tests in the BPD group were higher than those in non-BPD groups (P<0.05). Multivariate unconditional logistic regression analysis showed that gestational age and NRDS were the independent high-risk factors of very (extremely) low birth weight preterm infants.【Conclusion】The risk factors related to the development of bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD) in very (extremely) low birth weight premature infants were chorioamnionitis, birth weight, gestational age, NRDS, use of invasive ventilation and pharyngeal swab UU positive test. Of which, the gestational age and NRDS were independent risk factors.
