Abstract:【Objective】 To investigate the effect of uvulopalatopharyngoplasty (UPPP) in patients with obstructive sleep apnea syndrome (OSAHS). 【Methods】 Eighty patients with OSAHS in our hospital from January 2016 to may 2017 were randomly divided into observation group and control group, 40 cases in each group. The control group was treated with UPPP, and the observation group was treated with hyoid suspension on the basis of the control group. The apnea hypopnea index (AHI), minimum arterial oxygen saturation (LSaO2), Epworth Sleepiness Scale (ESS) score and sleep apnea quality of life index (SAQLI)were compared between the two groups before and after treatment.【Results】 Before treatment, there was no significant difference in AHI, LSaO2 and ESS scores between the two groups (P>0.05); after 6 months of treatment, the LSaO2 value of the observation group was significantly higher than that of the control group (P<0.05), AHI value and ESS score were significantly lower than those of the control group (P<0.05); before treatment, there was no significant difference in emotion, social life, daily interaction and symptom scores in SAQLI score between the two groups . After 6 months of treatment, the social life, daily interaction and symptom scores of the observation group were significantly higher than those of the control group (P<0.05). 【Conclusion】 Hyoid suspension combined with UPPP in the treatment of OSAHS patients has a significant effect, can improve the sleep and quality of life of OSAHS patients, worthy of clinical application.
