Abstract:【Objective】To explore the application of preoperative abdominal breathing training in elderly patients undergoing non-anesthetic colonoscopy. 【Methods】A total of 200 patients with colorectal cancer who were hospitalized for non-anesthetic colonoscopy from September 2017 to June 2018 were randomly divided into the control group and the intervention group with 100 cases in each group. The control group received routine administration, while the intervention group was guided for abdominal breathing training three days before the examination. The degree of pain (Facial Expression Pain Scale, FPS-R) and anxiety (Self-Assessment Scale, SAS) plus changes of blood pressure and heart rate before and during examination were compared between the two groups. 【Results】The score of FPS-R scale in the intervention group was lower than that in the control group (P<0.05). The systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure and heart rate in the two groups during colonoscopy were lower than those before the examination (P<0.05); the systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure and heart rate in the intervention group during colonoscopy were lower than those in the control group (P<0.05). SAS score of the intervention group before colonoscopy procedure was lower than that of the control group. The difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). 【Conclusion】Preoperative abdominal breathing training has a good effect on elderly patients undergoing non-anesthetic colonoscopy. It reduces pain, stress and anxiety.
