Abstract:【Objective】 To explore the relationship between Helicobacter pylori (H.pylori) infection and nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD).【Methods】A total of 260 patients with NAFLD diagnosed in our hospital from October 2013 to October 2017 were selected as the observation group. At the same time period, 260 healthy volunteers were selected as the control group. The general data of all subjects were completely recorded and the 14C-urea breath test for H.pylori infection was conducted by 14C-urea breath test. The relationship between H.pylori infection status and NAFLD was analyzed by unconditioneal Logistic regression.【Results】The overall infection rate of H.pylori in the two groups was 56.3%. The detection rate of H.pylori infection in the NAFLD group was 65.4%, which was significantly higher than that in the control group 47.3% (P<0.01). Logistic regression analysis showed that H.pylori infection, Body Mass Index, and Low Density Lipoprotein Cholesterol (LDL-C) were closely related to NAFLD.Among them, H.pylori infection was positively correlated with NAFLD (OR=3.66). 【Conclusion】 The H.pylori infection may be an independent risk factor for NAFLD.
