Application Effect of Painless Delivery Combined with Oxytocin and Artificial Rupture of Membranes for Induction of Labor in Full-Term Pregnant Women and its Impact on hs-CRP and PCT Levels |

Abstract 【Objective】To explore the application effect of painless delivery combined with oxytocin and artificial rupture of membranes for induction of labor in full-term pregnant women and its impact on the levels of procalcitonin (PCT) and high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP). 【Methods】A total of 116 full-term pregnant women admitted to our hospital from January 2024 to January 2025 were selected and divided into a control group and an observation group according to the random number table method, with 58 cases in each group. The control group received painless delivery combined with oxytocin for labor induction, while the observation group received painless delivery combined with oxytocin and artificial rupture of membranes for labor induction. The labor induction effect, inflammatory index levels, and pregnancy outcomes were compared between the two groups. 【Results】The first stage, second stage, third stage, and total duration of labor in the observation group were significantly shorter than those in the control group, and the vaginal delivery rate was significantly higher than that in the control group (P<0.05). After delivery, the levels of hs-CRP and PCT in both groups were higher than those before delivery (P<0.05), but the levels of hs-CRP and PCT in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group (P<0.05). There were no statistically significant differences in the total incidence of adverse neonatal outcomes and maternal perinatal complications between the two groups (P>0.05). 【Conclusion】 For full-term pregnant women, labor induction with painless delivery combined with oxytocin and artificial rupture of membranes can shorten the labor process, improve the labor induction effect, and reduce the inflammatory response.
