Abstract  【Objective】To investigate the correlation of disease activity with levels of insulin-like growth factor-2(IGF-2) and insulin-like growth factor binding protein-6(IGFBP-6) in the peripheral blood of patients with Rheumatoid Arthritis(RA). 【Methods】A total of 158 RA patients treated in our hospital were divided into high activity, moderate activity, and low activity groups based on the disease activity score of 28 joints. The levels of IGF-2 and IGFBP-6 in the peripheral blood of the three groups were compared. The relationship of different disease activities with the expression levels of IGF-2 and IGFBP-6 was evaluated; And the influencing factors of disease activity were analyzed as well.【Results】Among the 158 RA patients, 61(38.61%) were in the high activity group, 59(37.34%) in the moderate activity group, and 38(24.05%) in the low activity group. The IGF-2 level in the high activity group was higher than that in the moderate and low activity groups, while the IGFBP-6 level was lower than that in the moderate and low activity groups. The moderate activity group's IGF-2 level was higher than that of the low activity group, and the IGFBP-6 level was lower than that of the low activity group, with significant differences(P<0.05). There was a negative correlation of the disease activity with the expression level of IGF-2(P<0.001), and a positive correlation with the expression level of IGFBP-6(P<0.001). Multifactorial analysis showed that high white blood cell count, high expression level of IGF-2, and low expression level of IGFBP-6 were risk factors for high disease activity in RA patients(P<0.05).【Conclusion】In RA patients with high disease activity, the expression level of IGF-2 in peripheral blood is higher, which is negatively correlated with disease activity; And the expression level of IGFBP-6 in RA patients with high disease activity is lower, which is positively correlated with disease activity.
