| Effects of Elemene Emulsion Injection Combined with Temozolomide on Postoperative Survival and Serum miR-720 and miR-375 Levels in Patients with Glioma |

Abstract 【Objective】 To investigate the effects of elemene emulsion injection combined with temozolomide on postoperative survival and serum miR-720 and miR-375 levels in patients with glioma. 【Methods】 The clinical data of 78 patients with gliomas undergoing surgical treatment admitted to our hospital from July 2018 to July 2019 were retrospectively analyzed. According to the different treatment methods,they were divided into a control group (treated with temozolomide after surgery) and an observation group (treated with elemene emulsion injection combined with temozolomide after surgery),with 39 patients in each group. The levels of serum tumor markers [epidermal growth factor (EGF),interleukin-2 (IL-2),vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF),interleukin-6(IL-6)],immune function indicators (T-lymphocyte CD3+,CD4+,CD4+/CD8+),and serum miR-375 and miR-720 before and after treatment were compared,and the short-term efficacy and long-term survival rate of the two groups were compared. 【Results】 The total effective rate in the observation group was 84.62% (33/39),higher than 64.10% (25/39) in the control group,with a statistically significant difference (P<0.05). After treatment,the levels of serum EGF,VEGF,IL-2 and IL-6 in the observation group were lower than those in the control group (P<0.05); The levels of CD3+,CD4+ and CD4+/CD8+ in the observation group were higher than those before treatment,while the levels of CD3+,CD4+ and CD4+/CD8+ in the control group were lower than those before treatment,and the levels in the observation group were higher than those in the control group (P<0.05); The relative expression of miR-375 in the observation group was higher than that in the control group,while the relative expression of miR-720 in the observation group was lower than that in the control group (P<0.05). During a two-year follow-up,it was found that the 1-year survival rate,2-year survival rate,and median survival period in the observation group were higher than those in the control group (P<0.05). 【Conclusion】 Elemene emulsion injection combined with temozolomide has a good clinical efficacy in the treatment of glioma,which can improve the immune function of patients,regulate the expression of miR-720 and miR-375 in serum,and contribute to prolonging the survival period of patients.
