Abstract  【Objective】To analyze the relationship between Prospero related homeobox protein 1 (PROX1) and recurrence after minimally invasive resection of early non-small cell lung cancer(NSCLC).【Methods】A total of 106 patients with early NSCLC who underwent minimally invasive resection were recruited in the study. The expression of PROX1 in cancer tissues and adjacent tissues was detected and compared. The factors of postoperative recurrence were analyzed. In addition, all patients were followed up for 1 year, the recurrence rate was counted, and the survival of patients within 1 year was analyzed by Kaplan Meier method.【Results】The positive expression rate of PROX1 in cancer tissues was higher than that in adjacent tissues (P<0.05). The postoperative recurrence rate was19.81%(21/106). The recurrence group had higher proportion of TNM stage Ⅱ, maximum tumor diameter >3 cm, lymph node metastasis, low or undifferentiation and PROX1 positive expression than those in the non-recurrence group (P<0.05). Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that TNM stage Ⅱ, maximum tumor diameter >3 cm, lymph node metastasis, low/undifferentiation and PROX1 positive expression were the postoperative recurrenceinfluencing factors of patients with early NSCLC(P<0.05). By the end of one-year follow-up, 1 out of 80 PROX1 positive patients was lost to follow-up,and 12 died. The cumulative survival rate was 84.81%(67/79).Of the 16 PROX1 negative patients, one was lost to follow-up and one died. The cumulative survival rate was 93.33%(14/15).There was no significant difference in the total survival rate curve between the two groups (P>0.05).【Conclusion】The positive expression rate of PROX1 in early NSCLCis high. TNM stage Ⅱ, maximum tumor diameter >3 cm, lymph node metastasis, low or undifferentiated tumorand PROX1 positive expression are all risk factors for recurrence within 1 year. PROX1 is closely related to recurrence after minimally invasive resection of early NSCLC.
