Abstract  【Objective】To explore the effect of modified Tiaomianxiaozheng decoction on cervical high risk human papilloma virus (HR-HPV) persistent infection (spleen deficiency and dampness excess syndrome).【Methods】A total of 94 patients with persistent cervical HR-HPV infection (spleen deficiency and dampness syndrome) were randomly divided into 2 groups with 47 cases in each group. The control group received western medicine treatment, and the observation group was treated with Tiaomianxiaozheng decoction in addition to conventional basis. The traditional Chinese medical(TCM) symptom score, the curative effect of TCM, HPV viral loads and the changes of T lymphocyte subsets of the two groups before and after treatment were compared. The negative HPV conversion rate, clinical efficacy and the incidence of adverse reactions during treatment were compared.【Results】After treatment, the TCM symptom score, HPV viral load and Th17/Treg of the two groups were decreased (P<0.05), CD3+, CD4+ and CD4+/CD8+ were all increased (P<0.05). Compared with the control group, the TCM symptom score, HPV viral load and Th17/Treg of the observation group after treatment were all lower (P<0.05), and CD3+, CD4+ and CD4+/CD8+ were all higher (P<0.05). The total effective rate of TCM, HPV negative conversion rate and total clinical effective rate in the observation group were higher than those in the control group (P<0.05).The incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups during treatment was not different (P>0.05).【Conclusion】Modified Tiaomianxiaozheng decoction combined with conventional western medicine is used to treat HR-HPV persistent infection patients with spleen deficiency and dampness excess syndrome, which can significantly promote the remission of symptoms, reduce the load of HPV virus, regulate the immune function and improve the clinical efficacy. It has obvious curative effect and high safety.
