| Effect of Acupuncture Combined with Hot Compress of Traditional Chinese Medicine on Lumbar Function and Pain in Patients with Chronic Lumbar Muscle Strain |

Abstract 【Objective】To investigate the effect of acupuncture combined with traditional Chinese medicine hot compress on lumbar function and pain in patients with chronic lumbar muscle strain. 【Methods】From January 2016 to December 2018, 70 patients with chronic lumbar muscle strain treated in the outpatient department of our hospital were selected as the research object. According to the digital parity method, they were divided into the control group and the observation group, each group had 35 cases, in which the control group was treated with acupuncture alone, and the observation group was treated with acupuncture combined with hot compress of traditional Chinese medicine. The clinical effect of the two groups was compared. The pain of the two groups was scored by VAS, the waist dysfunction of the two groups was scored by CODI, and the quality of life (form SF-36) of the two groups was compared after the treatment. 【Results】After 2 weeks of treatment, the total effective rate in the observation group was 94.29% (33/35), which was significantly higher than 77.14% (27/35) in the control group. The difference was satistically significant (χ2=4.2,P=0.040).Before treatment, there was no significant difference in VAS score,CODI index and quality of life score between the two groups (P>0.05).After treatment, the VAS score, CODI index and four quality of life scores of the two groups were all better than those before treatment, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05); the clinical efficacy, VAS score, CODI index and four quality of life scores of the observation group were all better than those of the control group, and the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). 【Conclusion】Acupuncture combined with hot compress of traditional Chinese medicine can effectively reduce the pain, and improve lumbar function and life quality of patients with chronic lumbar muscle strain. Its clinical effect is significant.
