Abstract 【Objective】 To investigate the diagnostic value of microRNA-132 expression in patients with pulmonary tuberculosis (PTB). 【Methods】 During February 2017 and February 2019, 106 patients with PTB from our hospital were selected as the observation group, 40 patients with pneumonia were selected as pulmonary disease control group, and 40 healthy volunteers were selected as healthy control group. The real-time fluorescence quantitative polymerase chain reaction (qRT-PCR) was used to measure the expression of circulation microRNA-132. The receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve was used to evaluate the diagnostic value of microRNA-132 for PTB. 【Results】 The expression of circulating microRNA-132 in PTB patients was significantly higher than those in healthy control group or pulmonary disease control group (P<0.05). According to ROC curve analysis, the optimal cut-off value of microRNA-132 for PTB diagnosis was 0.36. When MiR-132 was 0.36, the area under curve (AUC) of microRNA-132 was 0.72, 95%CI:0.65~0.78, the sensitivity was 68.9%, and the specificity was 76.2%. 【Conclusion】 MicroRNA-132 can be used as a potential diagnostic marker of PTB.
