Effect of Calcium Carbonate Combined with Compound Alpha-ketoacid Tablets on Calcium and Phosphorus Metabolism and Nutritional Status in MHD Patients with Chronic Kidney Disease |

Abstract 【Objective】 To investigate the effect of calcium carbonate combined with compound alpha-ketoacid tablets on improving calcium and phosphorus metabolism and nutritional status in maintenance hemodialysis(MHD) patients with chronic kidney disease. 【Methods】 A total of 126 patients with chronic kidney disease undergoing MHD were randomly divided into two groups. The control group was treated with calcium carbonate, while the observation group was treated with calcium carbonate combined with compound alpha-ketoacid tablets. Patients received treatment for six months. The blood calcium, blood phosphorus, calcium-phosphorus product, serum parathyroid hormone (iPTH), PA, ALB, HGB, SGA score, IL-6, TNF-α, CRP and adverse reactions were compared between the two groups before treatment, 3 months and 6 months after treatment. 【Results】 After 3 and 6 months of treatment, the levels of blood phosphorus, calcium-phosphorus product and iPTH in the two groups were lower than those before treatment, and the levels in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group (P<0.05). The scores of PA, ALB, HGB and SGA in the two groups after treatment were higher than those before treatment, and those in the observation group were significantly higher than in the control group (P<0.05). The levels of IL-6, CRP and TNF-α in the two groups after treatment were lower than those before treatment, and those indicators in the observation group were significantly lower than in the control group (P<0.05). The incidence of adverse reactions in two group was not shown significant difference (P>0.05). 【Conclusion】 Calcium carbonate combined with compound alpha-ketoacid tablets can effectively improve calcium and phosphorus metabolism, improve nutritional status and inhibit inflammatory reaction in patients with chronic kidney disease undergoing MHD.
