Abstract 【Objective】 To explore the technique and clinical effect of arthroscopic single channel modified Mason Allen suture in the repair of lafosei Ⅰ and Ⅱ injury of subscapular tendon. 【Methods】 From January 2018 to December 2018, the clinical data of 24 patients with subscapular tendon tears repaired by single channel modified Mason Allen technique were analyzed retrospectively. According to the visual analogue scale (VAS), the preoperative and postoperative pain scores of patients during rest (night time) and passive movement were evaluated. The angle of passive flexion, lateral rotation and lateral rotation were recorded before and after operation. At least 6 months after operation, MRI of shoulder joint was reexamined.【Results】 According to the Lafosse classification of subscapular muscle injury under arthroscopy, there were 7 cases of type Ⅰ and 17 cases of type Ⅱ, 5 cases of isolated subscapular tendon injury and 19 cases of supraspinatus tendon injury. All the patients were followed up for 6 to 12 months. No complications such as blood vessel, nerve and infection occurred. No re tear of subscapular tendon was found. Among them, at 6 months after operation, VAS score at rest (at night) and VAS score at passive activity were significantly lower than that before operation (P<0.05). There was no significant difference in active flexion, abduction and lateral rotation before and after operation (P>0.05). Six months after operation, UCLA and ASES were significantly higher than those before operation (P<0.01). 【Conclusion】 The modified Mason-Allen suture technique with single operation channel under the arthroscope has the advantages of convenient operation and small injury to repair the Lafosse type Ⅰ and Ⅱ injury of the subscapular tendon.
